Collections
Group assets together without moving them. One asset, many collections.
What collections are
Collections are curated groups of assets. Unlike folders, they do not change where a file is stored. An asset stays in its folder and can belong to as many collections as you want. Think of collections like playlists for your visual content.
Use collections when you need assets grouped by purpose rather than location. For example: "Homepage banners", "Q2 campaign", or "Needs review".
Creating a collection
Open the Collections panel in the sidebar and click "New collection". Give it a name and optionally a description. You can also create a collection on the fly by selecting assets, right-clicking, and choosing "Add to new collection".
Adding and removing assets
Select one or more assets, right-click, and choose "Add to collection". Pick from your existing collections or create a new one. You can also drag assets directly onto a collection in the sidebar.
To remove an asset from a collection, open the collection, select the asset, and click "Remove from collection". This does not delete the file. It just removes the reference.
Nesting collections
Collections can be nested inside other collections to create a hierarchy. Drag one collection onto another in the sidebar, or right-click and choose "Move to". This helps when you have many collections and want to group related ones together.
For example, you might have a "Campaigns" parent collection with "Spring 2025", "Summer 2025", and "Holiday 2025" nested inside it.
How collections differ from folders
Folders are like filing cabinets. Each file goes in one drawer. Collections are like labels. You can stick as many labels on a file as you want. An image of a red sneaker can live in the "Footwear/Sneakers" folder while also belonging to the "Homepage", "Summer Sale", and "Social Media" collections.
Deleting a collection never deletes the assets inside it. The files remain in their folders. Only the grouping goes away.
Collection actions
Right-click a collection to rename it, change its description, share it, or delete it. You can also reorder collections in the sidebar by dragging them. The order you set is visible to all team members.
