Products

Products tie your images to real things you sell. Every asset gets a purpose.

What product records are

A product record in Sirv AI Studio represents a single item in your catalog. It holds a name, SKU, description, and a set of linked assets. Products can be created manually, imported from a CSV, or synced automatically from Shopify.

Think of product records as containers that give context to your images. Without them, a photo is just a file. Attached to a product, it becomes the hero shot for a specific sneaker or the lifestyle image for a particular candle.

Linking assets to products

Open any product and drag assets from your library into it. You can also select assets in the library, click "Link to Product," and search for the product by name or SKU. Assets can be linked to multiple products if the same image is used across variants or bundles.

When you process an image with an AI tool, the result automatically inherits the product link from the source image. Remove a background from a product photo and the output stays connected to the same product.

Asset roles

Each asset linked to a product has a role that describes its purpose. Roles help your team understand what each image is for and control how images are organized when pushed to your store.

  • Main image– The primary product photo. Shows up as the thumbnail in listings and at the top of the product page. Every product should have exactly one.
  • Gallery– Additional angles and views. These appear in the product image carousel. Order them by dragging to set the sequence.
  • Lifestyle– Product shown in real-world context. A mug on a desk, a jacket on a model, a lamp in a living room. Great for storytelling and ads.
  • Detail– Close-up shots highlighting texture, stitching, material, or fine features. Helps buyers evaluate quality before purchasing.
  • Swatch– Color or material variant samples. Small square images used in variant selectors on your store.

Assign a role when linking an asset, or change it later from the product detail view. Roles are optional but strongly recommended if you plan to sync with Shopify or use the supplier portal.

Product metadata

Beyond images, products hold metadata fields: title, description, SKU, brand, category, tags, and custom fields you define. This metadata is searchable. Type a brand name or category in the product search bar to find matching products instantly.

Custom fields are flexible. Add fields like "Season," "Material," or "Target Market" under Settings > Products > Custom Fields. These show up on every product record and can be used as filters in the product list.

Bulk management

Select multiple products from the list to update metadata in bulk, assign suppliers, or move products between groups. For large catalogs, use the CSV import to create or update hundreds of products at once. Export your product list the same way for reporting or external workflows.
