Safe Shopify publishing

How Sirv keeps Shopify catalog changes reviewable, traceable, and visible.

Before publish

Treat every AI output and supplier upload as draft work until a reviewer approves it. Compare the proposed image or alt text against the current Shopify source, confirm the product and variant assignment, and check the target channel before publishing.

Shopify live sync is the primary publish path. Non-Shopify channels start as readiness checks and exports unless your workspace has a separate live-sync integration configured.

Studio originals and version history

Keep originals and generated versions attached to the product. When a publish changes a Shopify image, alt text, featured media, or gallery order, the product history should show what changed, who approved it, and which previous version can be restored.

Source drift detection

Source drift happens when Shopify changes after Studio scanned or prepared work. Re-sync before large publishes, review drift warnings, and avoid overwriting a newer Shopify edit with an older Studio draft.

Variant media mapping

Variant media should be mapped deliberately. Check that swatches, colorways, size-specific images, and featured media point at the intended variant before publish so Shopify shoppers see the right image for the selected option.

AI provenance and generated-image metadata

Generated or edited assets should retain their source image, operation, model or workflow, review state, and publish target. That metadata helps teams audit how an image was made, reproduce a cleanup recipe, and keep generated content separate from untouched source photography.
